Sing Sing Prison Museum
Housed just outside the prison walls, the Sing Sing Prison Museum will unlock the history of this world famous institution through exhibits, artifacts and experiences. The 1825 Cellblock, located within the secure perimeter of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility will be the Museum’s most powerful artifact. Once inside, a visitor will be able to reflect on what it must have been like when more than 1,200 men were warehoused in tiny, fetid cells. The Museum will also take center stage in facilitating the current national conversation about social justice, incarceration, rehabilitation and issues surrounding re-entry. By calling attention to the complex history of crime and punishment, the Museum will challenge visitors to think about issues that are both timeless and timely.
