The League of Women Voters of Westchester (LWVW) is a nonpartisan grassroots organization whose purpose is to promote informed and active participation in government. The League neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties, yet we are political. The LWVW is an Inter-League Organization that monitors Westchester County governance and the Westchester County Board of Elections. We review issues and actions that impact the County as a whole. Our Board of Directors is comprised of an Executive Committee and the president of each of the eight local Leagues in the County.
Together with the LWVUS, the LWVW commits to diversity, equity, and inclusion in principle and practice, recognizing that they are central to its current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy. We welcome anyone 16+ years old to join us in advocating for issues and educating the public. Our committees include: Voter Service/Voting Rights; County Government; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; Environment; Health Care; Special Projects; Women & Children’s Issues; and Youth Programs.
